McLaren Community Leisure Centre is a charitable ‘not for profit organisation’ which belongs to the local community, is led by a voluntary Board of unpaid Directors, and is run by a paid and versatile Management Team and staff.
It is one of the largest local charities, employing over 21 staff (full-time and part-time), and uses local trades-people wherever possible.
McLaren Community Leisure Centre seeks to:
Serve the exercise and leisure needs of our local communities, including: Aberfoyle, Brig O’ Turk, Callander, Crianlarich, Doune, Gartmore, Killin, Lochearnhead, Port of Menteith, Strathyre, Thornhill and Tyndrum;
Provide facilities for the sports needs of the High School and the Primary Schools;
Serve and support tourists and other visitors to the area in their exercise and leisure;
Become a centre of excellence for healthy exercise for Scotland.
Our priorities:
Our number one priority is Safety: we train our staff in safety procedures and in a range of other areas that contribute to making the Centre safer for the public e.g. Lifeguards and First Aid training. Customer service: we are committed to providing an enjoyable and high quality leisure experience for all users of the Centre.
Costs: we will always give a higher priority to safety and customer service than to cost savings.
